Himanta Biswa Sarma Lauched Orunodoi 3.0
HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the people on ‘Orunodoi Poxek’, a two-week initiative, from 15th Dec to 28 Dec 2024, to enroll new beneficiaries under the flagship Orunodoi 3.0 scheme.
“Orunodoi Poxek” is a two-week-long initiative launched under the leadership of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to ensure the inclusive, fair, and transparent selection of beneficiaries for the Orunodoi Scheme.
This program focuses on providing financial assistance to deserving families across the state. Through Gaon Sabha meetings at the local level, eligible beneficiaries are identified and verified to maintain transparency. A draft beneficiary list will then be prepared in accordance with the guidelines of Orunodoi 3.0, ensuring that the scheme reaches those who truly need support.

The goal is to help women who are financially struggling by giving them Rs. 1,400 every month. This money is directly deposited into their bank accounts on the 10th of each month.
Benefits of Orunodoi 3.0 Scheme 2024-25
The money provided through the Orunodoi 3.0 Scheme is meant to help with various household expenses:
- Medicine: Rs. 400 per month for health-related costs.
- Food: Rs. 200 per month for buying pulses, Rs. 80 for sugar, and Rs. 150 for fruits and vegetables.
- Other Needs: Rs. 170 per month for basic essentials.
- Additional Support: Rs. 250 per month if you’re also enrolled in other specific schemes.
- Extra Benefit: An additional Rs. 150 per month, making the total Rs. 1,400.
Who Can Apply for the Orunodoi 3.0 Scheme?
This scheme is meant to help women and other vulnerable groups in need. You can apply if you are:
- A widow, unmarried woman (above 45 years), divorced, or deserted woman
- A transgender person
- A person with disabilities, regardless of gender
- An elderly or weak woman, including those living in government-registered old-age homes
- A woman from a family where the earning members are disabled or senior citizens
- A woman from a family where the earners suffer from serious diseases like HIV, Thalassemia, Haemophilia, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy, or Autism
- A homeless woman or one living on alms
- A beneficiary of the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) scheme
- A woman from a family with a total yearly income of less than ₹2 lakhs
Who Can’t Apply?
You cannot apply if you or someone in your household falls under any of these categories:
- Current or former MPs, MLAs, CEMs, EMs, or members of Panchayati Raj, Urban Local Bodies, or Autonomous Councils
- Professionals like doctors, engineers, architects, CAs, bank officials, lawyers, or teachers in universities, colleges, or schools
- Government employees or business owners who pay income tax
- Families owning large pieces of land (beyond small or marginal categories)
- Families with motorized four-wheeler vehicles
